about me

Hey! I’m Tovah! Thanks for stopping by. First, a little about me.
I live with a disease called CMT (Charcot Marie Tooth). Which is a degenerative nerve disease that affects 1 in 2500 people.
In 2018, my disability got progressively worse. I wasn’t listening to my body, pushing it to do things that became increasingly difficult. My body was forcing me to see truth. I couldn’t physically continue the work I loved in wedding photography. I also had to reckon with untreated PTSD & Autism. Everything had to change.
I’m grateful for access to therapy and a strong support structure who helped through another reconstructive foot surgery.
Being stuck at home, I started documenting my life with CMT on Instagram while also sharing cozy home pics with houseplants and home decor.
Then the pandemic began, and with it a slow awakening to the horrible truths of the world.
My focus shifted. For the last four years my efforts have gone into social justice advocacy & art, which has inadvertently helped me process a lot of grief.
With the lock-down came financial instability, which led to housing instability. We moved 3 times until finally settling in South-Western Ontario at the end of 2022.
This housing stability helped so much. It allowed me the space to heal, think & multitask.
I could keep up my advocacy AND I was able to share my love of vintage, pre-loved home decor through photography.
I love doing this work, I love helping others make their homes cute & stylish little safe spaces from the world.
I realized I couldn’t simply help people who are already safe achieve beauty… but I needed to also help those struggling to survive. I want EVERYONE to receive the level of comfort I & those around me experience.
So, in my spare time I organize mutual aid raffles, focused currently on families in Gaza who are unjustly losing their lives and their homes… their safe spaces.
We ALL deserve a comfortable home.
So here I am! Your support of my livelihood helps other families in need, because I could not be helping them without it.
I hope to inspire others to do the same in their lives so we can one day all do what we love and live the lives that we so justly deserve.
Thanks for being here & enjoy! 💗
